THE EXPRESSIONIST'S CREED x VOL.6 | ANONYMITY

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

- [4-1-13] - A vast array of emotions consumed me at the thought of creating, every day, consistently, for an entire year. However, the concept of having to apply makeup on a daily basis did not arouse me in the least bit, considering I seldom do. I recalled an idea I shared on this blog probably two years ago, then presented to my fellow Archetect, Zunyda sometime over this past summer. It is, sadly, a concept that has perhaps been implemented already, filed under, "[oftentimes] no idea is original". It catered to my desire to have began publicising my work under anonymity. To have tailored my work to project my aesthetics, yet keep the knowledge of my face hidden. To have heard my name dictated in dialogue, with my image unknown to the tongue who spoke it. Sort of like the likes of Banksy and MF Doom. Till this day, very few have the knowledge of how either Artists look. Imagine, your favourite Artist was the stranger you shared kind words with that one Summer afternoon on the subway. Or, perhaps, that neighbour that's adamant on greeting you each morning on your way to work. And, you hadn't the slightest idea. The idea, alone, is crippling in its abundance of thrill.

Since learning an idea I had for a creative project had already been done, I grew a bit discouraged. That is, until I grew overwhelmed by the Spirit of innovation. I tailored the concept to fit me, as depicted in the photographs above and below. I shot this in the course of 30 minutes, however, in retrospect, I can't help but feel like I should have exhausted more time in the shooting process. Perhaps, on a later day, on a different subject.
There is this unspoken sense of allure in the disregard of physical beauty and standards in the work that I so deeply enjoy. I plan to continue to implement the no i-D; anonymity element in works to come. Peace.

THE EXPRESSIONIST'S CREED x VOL.4 | TEFF, THE TROPIC

[17-9-12] - Solitude is a cause for celebration. At least, nowadays, I find it more and more pressing to celebrate alone time. See, I'm living in an ongoing episode of "Full House" since my return to New York. So, when I have my weeks start off busy, then spiral into ease, I cling to solitude so dearly. Towards the end of the week, the house gets more and more empty. Being the homebody that I am, I, luckily, end up being the odd ball out. This was the case on the seventeenth of September.
See, weeks had passed and I had desperately anticipated a self-shooting session. I had craved enough time alone to entertain the chaotic, yet calming energy that comes from the entire process. For weeks now, my eyes had wandered and consequently, coveted my older brother's tropical-print shirt from Topshop. Peace.

THE EXPRESSIONIST'S CREED x VOL.2 | PIZZA-SHOP EPIPHANIES

[26-9-12] - The ability to single out one memory, to me, dwells on distinction. What makes this memory most, well, memorable? And, why? Most recently, actually on the day depicted, I had the displeasure of entertaining the company of an unstable, liable to flip shit, homeless schizo. The whole experience was entirely foreign to me, but incredibly hilarious nonetheless. Many would argue such behavior is expected, given New York City's reputation for harboring the most strangest of characters - an attribute which most take incredible pride in, might I add.

Here we are, myself, Monica and her younger brother, Juan (whom took the photos and, I edited them) and we're approached by this initially calm woman, declaring her need and right to sit down and sift through her magazines. When she's justifiably denied and redirected to the other extreme of the statue's base, that's when the drama begins. Ha! She's wailing and shaking her head, persisting on her demand to sit where she desires to sit, despite the fact that it's already occupied and may be so for the next five to ten minutes. Not too deep into the squabble, we gave up; we saw no point in arguing with someone who is too consumed by their own desires to seek reason in the situation. All my years in New York; I suppose it - being directly confronted with madness - was bound to happen. "Power to the Peaceful."

THE EXPRESSIONIST'S CREED | NAUGHTY Y NAUTICAL

[01-9-12] - Observe how the use of the term, "manifesto" quickly manifested into "creed" in a matter of weeks? I'm like that; I seek change. As titillating a quality as it is to have, it has its downfalls. I seek change perhaps, too often.

I had the utmost fun shooting these. My neighbors some two doors down kept peeking, trying to figure out exactly what I was up to. Even though I had grown exhausted after shooting [W]itches Brew, the laid-back ease of the outfit transcended in the air that enveloped the entire process, it seems. Peace.
