PHOTO-DIARY | SHOWROOM VISIT + RAMBLING

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

- [11-1-13] - A short 11 days into the year and it's already shaping up to be one of the most fruitful, which is cause for celebration, to say the least. For starters, my partner, Zunyda and I launched our site and online shop most recently; click here to view. For now, we have our premier collection titled, Alchemy; designed by myself and sewn by Zunyda. The shop will soon feature
Also, collaborating with 2 major brands, one of which is the source of the photos above and below and curating a show at The Brooklyn Museum of Art next month and then some (will release details of that soon). So, it goes without saying; I am deep into actualities that are most fitting with the path that I've personally set for myself. I find myself reveling in alone time more frequent than usual. I recall a time where I used to create self-portraits on a daily basis. Self-portraits are the surest representation of loneliness and solitude - luxuries which I have been denied of as of late. Speaking of which; if you follow me on tumblr, you would have caught on to the fact that my 365 Project was put on hold. Regretfully, of course. However, tomorrow (technically later on today; the time is currently 3:41AM 'cause my sleep schedule is irregular-as-fuck), I have quite a bit lined up for myself. Just thought I'd give way to this textual spill before calling it a night.

For those attentively tuned in, let me break it down: I live upstate and in the Bronx; the X is where I am most busy partaking in actual real world endeavours and Upstate is where I retreat and cultivate time to document it all on the web. No matter how busy I am, I never want to lose sight of my sense of documenting, especially textually. That's chiefly my reason for creating this blog, and keeping a diary, and keeping a second diary, and, soon, a third, and a notepad, and why I still entertain Twitter. My thoughts come to me so deep and so dark and so vast and so colourful and so enlightening that I just simply have to pour in an effort to make room for much more. Anyways, I digress.

For fun-sake, I'll leave you to guess what brand this showroom belongs to. Keep checking in to see when I update the post, revealing the correct answer, why don't cha? Peace.

PHOTO-DIARY | TEFF, THE DON x 365 PROJECT

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Day 1-3 of 365, with the exception of one photo that was taken last year. The past couple of days has constituted sleep-deprivation coupled with an irregular sleep sifting quite a bit of magazines, namely that of the home decor sort; see, I once had interior-decorating aspirations. Admittedly, still do. These days have also included clinging to the commitment of my 365 project. I like waking up with the purpose of creating. I used to say this, and quite frequently, too, "to live is to create." So, I wake up and my mind is immediately wandering, racing in an effort to create and/or capture. Venturing on this 365 project is mostly to strengthen my ability to remain consistent. Anyone else on the same kick? Or, perhaps, has anyone done so in the past? How is it coming along? Be so kind as to share with me, if you care to. Peace.

PHOTO-DIARY | TEFF, THE DON x MINT WINTER

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

- [30-12-12] - Long walks in the Winter are a functioning phenomenon, reminding the scorned Soul it takes cold, to thaw cold. Numb the skin, clear the mind kind-of deal. Peace.

PHOTO-DIARY | WHEN IN ROAM

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

[11-10-12] + [13-10-12] - I pride myself on taking an unorthodox approach to my opening statements on a post-to-post basis. This time, however, I seem to be running low on the think-tank. So, this will have to do. On the eleventh of October, I was in roam. Would we call this wordplay? I think so.

I had a meeting run late in the city, which by chance, collided with my boyfriend's evening engagement. Being that I was poorly-dressed for the weather (outfit post may follow this one. If it does, I will insert a hyperlink here. Fun how things are subject to change, huh?), I thought it best to wait for him to head home (we conveniently live off of the same stop, by the same train). Little did I know what this wait would entail.

First, I waited in Chipotle (the one on Spring for my NYers), where I was entirely too cold and too broke (not broke currently; holla!) to entertain a meal. I sat, pulled out my sketch book, one whose pages are ridden by verbal and pictorial sketches, and dove in. For what seemed like forever, I slipped into my self, as I have a habit of doing, and my went quiet. I believe this to be a consequence Eventually, I gave in. I sought a solution, which dictated that I take off my jacket and create a makeshift blanket. Hilarious, I know! Also, I got something to eat.
Then closing time came and, well, I had to seek shelter elsewhere, 'cause of course, it was much too cold to wait outside. Luckily, UO doesn't close till 11pm and it's also well-lit with mirrors and nifty trinkets (had no idea they carried Miles Davis records) and garments and empty at this hour (after 10, roughly). It posed as a most inviting playground for someone who desperately wished to kill time, like myself. So, I played. Peace.

PHOTO-DIARY x HOME GOODS | 15-8-12 + 16-8-12

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The most appeasing aspect of being home is the seemingly, never-ending bits of inspiration. My home, in particular, my mum has a keen eye for details - one that attracts her to buy the most beautiful, little trinkets to enhance the appeal of the home-decor, most of which are from Home Goods. I found myself home alone yesterday as well as today afternoon, marveling at the divine details of it all and took it upon myself to photograph some. And, to create a mixed drink. Aren't the colours just beautiful? There's a science behind pouring the red wine; you must do it so subtly so as to not permit it to blend entirely with the Simply Lemonade + Mango. Ha! Enjoy! Peace.

PHOTO-DIARY | NEW NEWS, BREWS, + SHOES

[23-5-12] - Literally just snapped these moments ago. Which means, I am currently sipping out of my favourite cup, filled with my idea of a rich blend of mocha, accompanied by divine bites from a toasted and buttered bagel and perusing some of my mum's newest magazines. OK, I'm totally flourishing, but you get the picture. Literally, you get the picture.

My mum has bought me yet another pair of sneakers. When will the madness stop? Ha! Nah, I'm kidding. I totally skimp on buying shoes, anyways, so sweet mum's generosity certainly helps. They're a bit remniscent of the UO canvas-sneakers, but with slightly thicker soles. Which is a great thing considering the fact that after a while, the UO pairs thin out due to constant friction. Or poor quaility. Or a bit of both. Crazy enough, these are cheaper; a cool 12 bucks + change. Peace.
